The FIFA World Cup 2026 is turning out to be one of the most emotional tournaments in recent memory. For many fans, it could mark the final World Cup appearances of football icons Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr. While Messi, 39, completed his fairytale by lifting the trophy in 2022 for Argentina, all eyes are now on Portugal star Ronaldo, 41, as he chases the one major title still missing from his legendary career.

At the same time, the tournament represents the dawn of a new era. As one generation of superstars prepares to bow out, the next wave of talent, led by Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, and Lamine Yamal, is ready to take over the global stage.

Amid the football drama, a unique figure has also captured the internet's attention. A Ghanaian spiritual priest, who previously made headlines for claiming to have cast spells on England captain Harry Kane, is back with another eye-catching prediction. This time, he has declared: "This World Cup is for Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo. They will win it." Here's everything he said.

What does Nana Kwaku Bonsam’s prophecy say?

Nana Kwaku Bonsam, the Ghanaian spiritualist who recently went viral after claiming to have cast a spell on England captain Harry Kane, is back in the spotlight with another bold prediction. After his previous claims went viral, Bonsam has now declared that Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal will win the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting that their triumph has already been decided in the spiritual realm.

He stated, “This World Cup is for Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo. They will win it.”

He further added, “This World Cup carries a strong spiritual energy for Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo. The signs in the spiritual realm point towards them. Destiny, favour, and the ancestors are aligned with Portugal. They will lift the trophy.”

The priest also revealed a series of recommendations that the Portuguese national team should follow for the vision to come true.

Of course, there's no evidence to back up his supposed powers, and his statements are part of the folklore that usually makes him go viral. But with Cristiano chasing one last glory and a talent-packed Portugal, his words have already sparked debate among millions of fans.

‘He’s a real shaman’: How did the fans react?

Fans are absolutely divided as the shaman makes a prediction in favour of one alleged GOAT. With the GOAT debate reaching its final stretch, fans are once again split and have differing opinions. While Ronaldo fans say, "I'll have to support everything you say," Messi fans have called it "the worst prediction."

One fan mockingly wrote, "FIFA will award him the Voodoo d'Or if this happens," while another user commented, "This lad should end this nonsense, man."

Meanwhile, Ghana fans are asking, "Why can't he make sure Ghana wins?" questioning whether he is patriotic or not. They also wondered why he claimed to cast a spell on Harry Kane and England on Ghana's behalf if Ghana did not even go on to win.

Ironically, as things stand, Portugal are set to face Ghana in the Round of 32, although both teams still have one group-stage match remaining.

Why did the priest originally go viral?

Before the kickoff of England's second-round match against Ghana, Kwaku Bonsam publicly announced that he was "working on Harry Kane". He explicitly stated that he did not want to cause the striker a serious injury but only wanted to do enough spiritual work to stop him from scoring against Ghana.

The match ended in a shocking 0-0 draw. Harry Kane, who had already scored twice in England's opening match, inexplicably missed a late close-range sitter.

Adding to the viral mystique, cameras caught a Ghanaian fan in the stadium blowing a mysterious white powder into the air during the game, leading fans to joke that the "juju" was real. The moment transformed Ghana's encounter into a viral internet meme.

This is not the first time Kwaku Bonsam has disrupted the football world. He achieved international headlines over a decade ago when he claimed responsibility for a spiritual knee injury inflicted on Cristiano Ronaldo just before the 2014 World Cup final. This time, however, he is rooting for the Portuguese footballer.

We will have to wait until July 19 to see whether his prediction comes true. For now, Portugal are scheduled to face Colombia in their final group-stage match, while Ghana will take on Croatia.
