‘I wish people were more mature!’ Gen Z opens up about why finding real love feels harder than ever today

A young college student shared her heartbreak on Reddit after her boyfriend ended their relationship. The two had met at a rave, where they simply looked at each other before getting to know one another. She described it as a rare connection that happened naturally without any planning.

She also admitted something that made her story even more emotional. Before meeting him, she had never experienced romantic attention from anyone. Now that the relationship has ended, she wonders if she will ever find that kind of connection again.


The student explained that although she is in college, she has never really had opportunities to meet someone romantically. According to her, nobody has ever shown interest in her apart from her former boyfriend. That has made moving on even more difficult.

Her biggest question was simple but relatable. She asked how middle Gen Z actually meets people in real life today and builds relationships that last. Her honest confession quickly attracted many thoughtful replies from other Reddit users.

One Reddit user admitted that they completely understood how she felt. The user wrote, "I felt like that until I met my now-ex. Had no one before and now I have no one again. It sucks. I wish people were more mature lol."

Both joined a group chat for college freshmen, even though the user never actually attended that college in the end. Sometimes unexpected online conversations can still lead to real-life relationships.

Since the community was very small, everyone knew one another, making it easier to build friendships both online and offline.
