BTS' Jungkook claps back at fan calling him anime noob over his new Cyberpunk: Edgerunners obsession; ARMY jokes 'this is where he draws the line'

Usually, the Golden Maknae ignores the noise. But a recent allegation on X finally made him lose his cool.


And what was the controversy about? Believe it or not, it was about Jungkook watching the 2022 anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners in 2026 and getting completely hooked. Yes, that's it.

The conversation started when an X user, who was also an ARMY, pointed out that Jungkook spent so much of his childhood and teenage years training that he likely missed out on a lot of anime. The comment, as it appeared, was harmless, but it unexpectedly caught Jungkook's attention.

As a result, it got a rare response from the BTS singer and a timeline now flooded with memes about how Jungkook may ignore hate comments, but he absolutely will not tolerate anime slander.

Jungkook's love for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners has become impossible for fans to miss. After recently discovering the anime, the BTS star appeared to dive headfirst into the series, even updating his Instagram profile picture and highlight covers with images of characters from the show. The viral exchange began when an X user, who is also a Jungkook fan, jokingly wrote: "No, but Jungkook was so busy working when he was younger that he seriously didn't watch any anime at all. What an amateur. Ah... I don't even wanna deal with you. Go away,"

The post eventually caught Jungkook's attention, and the singer wasn't about to let the accusation slide. Sharing a screenshot of the comment on his X account through his 30 million followers on his Instagram account, he shot back: "And who are you [to say that]?"
